I am not a lifelong athlete. In 2008, I was living in a small apartment newly widowed, depressed and in possession of some costly habits. I started walking my dog in a nearby park, only because I had to, for her health and well being. Those walks became a lifeline for us both and eventually, slowly turned into runs. Those walks also turned into a passion for fitness that I absolutely can not put a cap on or turn off. I eat, sleep, and dream fitness and nutrition. In the past nine years so much has changed, I eventually traded my bad habits for a running coach to help me complete my first half marathon in 2012. It changed my life, habits and future. I have finished many half marathons and one full since. I learned to ride a bike, conquered my fear of the water and learned to swim, just to participate in a local sprint triathlon. I continued with triathlons completing many sprint, Olympic, and 70.3 distances. I’m currently training for my 2nd 140.6 distance triathlon. I have had a few coaches over the years, and have eagerly soaked up every bit of knowledge they shared with me. Now, it’s time for me to give back, it’s time for me to take what I’ve learned and help others live a healthy, happy and more balanced life.
