My background is strong in the endurance sports world including 20 years competitive running experience and 8 years experience in triathlon. I started in triathlon in 2007 as a novice after college running, moving up the ranks racing in the elite-amateur division.
All of my coaching is detailed and based on the individual, which includes an extensive athlete assessment . Throughout the duration of your training we will meet in person or virtually for performance and technical analysis. Achieving your goals is my priority.
I’m a current student athlete at the University of Texas at Tyler. I’ve competed in dozens of
triathlons, road races, and endurance competitions. My first Ironman triathlon was finished at 18 years old. My coaching background is specialized in beginner to intermediate athletes, but helping critic elite athletes and create workout plans are no problem. I’ve coached the
swim team in my home town of Lago Vista for two years and given private swim lessons for
three years. I trained with and learned from Texas A&M swimmer Johnny Els for two years.
My mission for the next few years is to help as many athletes crush their goals, whatever it
may be, to the best of their ability!
Howdy, my name is Garrett Mayeaux and if you can't already tell from my greeting I'm an Aggie. I'll be graduating from Texas A&M University in August, 2017 with a degree in Applied Exercise & Physiology. I have a strong background in endurance sports including 4 years as a USA competitive swimmer, 9 years as a competitive runner, and 5 years as a triathlete. I've recently embarked on my coaching career after having a great time while coaching two individuals to meet their goals. My first success came through personally training a College Station community member for 4 months. During this time I would meet with my client at his house at 5:30am 3 times a week. He had a general goal to lose weight and to gain balance so that he could ride his 1994 trek road bike again. Not even half way through he was riding his bike around a 5 mile loop and at the end of our 4 months he was 11lbs lighter. For the second success story, I started training my girlfriend a few months back for half marathons. After working with her for these past few months she was able to exceed her goal of running a 2 hour half marathon, along with acheiving a personal record by dropping 16 minutes from her previous best. Needless to say I'm capable of coaching you to your own success story and I am excited to work with you!
